I’m a special education teacher and I am planning on leaving the profession. I feel like education is all about test scores and teaching to the test. Most of the time I feel like I’m testing and assessing students and not teaching what needs to be taught. It’s a real shame. I’m really going to miss it when I’m gone
This country is circling the drain.
This illogical hatred of gays comes from one place – the vile Bible. It says gays are so disgusting that they can't get into their god's heaven, no matter how good of a life they might have lead. So Jesus and Pals deserve our scorn – since he won't come down today and tell people that the Bible is dead wrong about that. Jesus and the Bible are full of hatred, unfortunately.
Teaching black history pertaining to the US is United States history, Native American history as it pertains to the US. Anything that went on in this country is history and should be taught. These are part of US history. So to erase it fully…is a shame, telling a not even half the truth. Because racist white folks are not admitting that they were wrong, so they hide the shame. And say move on, that's not how that works. And it's the fact that they know it was wrong. Why hide something if you don't feel shameful.

They need to quit putting so much pressure on white people to be less racist. A lot of white kids feel oppressed because they don't have their own clubs or groups on campus, they aren't allowed to be proud like all of the other races, they aren't allowed to use racial slurs like all of the other races, and speaking out against the system will get them a strike for hate speech. It's no surprise that things such as the White Replacement theory exist. In our fight to end racism we are being very hateful and resenting against white people!
What exceptionally gifted teacher who really cares about a student's would want to continue in this current atmosphere of harassment, second guessing, and restrictions promoted by MAGA radicals that leaves students with a dumbed down, narrow minded education? 'American exceptionalism' has been an oxymoron for some time now and if we continue down this path of the best teachers leaving and more restrictions, we will never regain exceptionalism.
Protect our children from propaganda … stick to objective subjects.. math, English, science, etc.
When my adolescent kid is taught that the sexual orientation of less than 2% of the population is a norm (normal) this is a problem. While it might be natural, it’s not normal.
When it’s necessary for me to tell my kid that some of the material presented to them is politically motivated and factually incorrect… this is a problem.
A teacher’s job is to present objective factual information… if you can’t handle that then become a politician.
And what’s with the rainbow glasses?. Are they symbolic of sexuality? Does he wear those in the classroom? Can a masculine heterosexual male wear a symbol of his sexuality in the classroom?
My experience is any expression of masculine heterosexuality is forbidden in the workplace. Why should there be a double standard?

Teachers teach, that's what we do. Your kid comes into my Band Room with a clapped out, rental Tuba that's loaded with dents that doesn't play well. He is twelve or thirteen now and Stinks, not a little, a Lot. I am his teacher, I am perhaps the only well groomed, Male Adult he sees all day. I am also probably the Only Male Teacher he has all school year. He's over weight so sports are out, your Kid has questionable social skills and few manners to boot. Now, having painted a very Realistic picture, shall I not be the Teacher and Teach him: Tuba, Manners, kid-you are at that age now where you stink 🦨 so wash more often and use deodorant if you intend to play in this band. Your kid needs Raised, he needs to hear these lessons and, if YOU Raise him at home correctly and completely, then ALL I or any teacher ever has to do is teach your Kid one simple subject. Playing Tuba in My Band Class can and, if he invests even a small effort, will profit Him and YOU with a Full Tuition College Scholarship. I have taught many of your kids in just exactly this scenario and have seen many Tuba players go to colleges and universities for FREE. Try, just TRY doing what I do, I dare You. I DOUBLE DARE YOU.
