After a series of accidents involving Tesla’s autopilot feature, the company issued a recall for nearly every Tesla in America. The company is transmitting a software upgrade to the autosteer feature. NBC News’ Tom Costello has more details.

A huge issue that is fixed overnight with no action needed by the owner. What a recall. How stupid are people? Do you think airline pilots just open up a book when they turn the autopilot on? No, they continually monitor all systems to make sure the autopilot is doing what they told it to. These crashes are 100% the fault the drivers. Always will be no matter how much automation you jam in a car. You are the operator, you are responsible. Period.
Teslas are awesome but they’re not autonomous and idiots are misusing the autopilot feature in part because Elon has marketed as full self driving.

Driving with auto pilots driver looses the senses after 15 min max. And when situation pops out driver is not able to react fast and adequately. Cause ur body is in relax mode.I tested my self cruise control two times after that I never switched that thing on cause I noticed where it will end. I want the car to do what I want not the other way around…it’s up to me to decide when and where not Elon.

Somebody asked "Why don't you try using auto pilot in the city?" The following was my list of reasons why:
– I ain't stupid.
– It still said "beta" version, meaning "it's not done yet"
– The car's sight visual display was obviously lagging by seconds than what you could see with your own eyes. Red flag.
– real city life has lots of different details, like potholes and random ppl walking into traffic unexpectedly. Did not trust that the computer had all logic programmed yet.
– it break golden rule of keeping eyes on the road. Even if system was perfect, sometimes old ways shouldn't be forgotten.
– Another Golden Rule is: "Don't play in traffic." All this "testing" Telsa is doing is understandable for open source way of growing the software, but it is still has a type of toy-like appeal to it that can make people think Auto Pilot feature is something to "play around" with. Its not the same as tryi g to get good at using a remote control from safety of couch. Driving Tesla is more like operating heavy machinery, so this incomplete beginning phase shouldn't be though of as fun and games.
– Lastly, I knew there were most likely bugs that still needed to be sorted out, and this could obviously be done by others, not me. I didn't want to be a human guinea pig in Tesla secretly obvious testing phase.
Keep your eyes on the road. Stay in control of your vehicle. Duh.

it's not under recall, tesla did a voluntary software update while you were sleeping. this is blatant misinformation. …OTOH if you owned a Ford, Chevrolet, or just about any other automobile and needed a simple software update, you'd have to take your car into a dealership to have this kind of thing done. but notice that they didn't mention this. smh.

Yeah, even though Elon lied about the self driving aspect, you should have more sense. With the Ford, I dont trust Blue Cruise completely even when I use it. Idk why you would trust technology completely? Granted, Tesla should be somewhat liable because the car should have some features for safety.
