Wondering if the teacher is a sista
If parents taught there brat children how to behave and do what the teacher tells you to do, then this wouldn't happen

My guess is the child isn't saying what got him into trouble, but the teacher is also covering his butt, and he knows no matter what that child did to aggravate him (the teacher), he is in the wrong. There are better ways of discipline than humiliation.

I do not condone this but if you have ever taught, you have to tell students 100 times to stop getting up. It is really irritating when they test your patience because they know there are no consequences.
With the stress teachers are under I'm not surprised one of them might snap.

I'm an Education Assistant, I will not stand by and watch this 😠 I would record for evidence, go to the principal, give evidence and give parents this too..nope..I wouldn't care if I lost my job, no one does this to a child..especially when I'm there..this is terrible..gets me angry how Education professional gets away with this..
We drop our children off at school thinking they are safe.
But these teachers are abusive and need to find a different job,or better yet get their teaching license taken away from them and would never be allowed to get near a child again.

The school district police have a conflict of interest, being employees of the district. The teacher admitted to the mother that she did it and said she was "just playing" when setting him up to be bullied and triggering a migraine. Yet the school administrators are deeply mystified as to whether it happened, seeking "2 sides" in a situation with extremely unequal power and responsibility. This teacher is at best too lacking in skills to teach children. There's no excuse to do this.
If this Teacher did this she should be fired. She should never teach again anywhere. I would sue the School.

That teacher should be fired! I never allowed anyone to discipline my child. That's the parents' job, not the teachers. My son turned out perfectly fine. He was a police officer/county sheriff. I begged him to quit his job. Now, he is a supervisor working with kids who have Autism. I honestly believe that what the teacher did is child abuse.

I and my Sons went to Catholic School, and you would get more than taped to a chair if you were not paying attention, or carrying on. Nothing but chaos is the order of the day in Public Schools in Pennsylvania where Black Kids are the majority, and heaven help the Teacher or Administrators if they tried to create a bit of Discipline while trying to Teach. Baltimore, Chicago same thing. Now they are crying because the children are going to Community College and cannot read properly. So it winds up they are their own worst nightmare.

One daughters best friend is a Public School Teacher of Emotionally Disturbed 5th graders. 7 yrs ago one child actually broke her arm. YES some children have very bad behavior in schools. But you DO NOT further the problems by abusing the child.
My son's school had a time out room they had to put my son in at times. Of course another parent complained and they stopped utilizing it which was not helpful for my child at all. Point being; my son needed it. I am all for restraining a child who needs it. Tape didn't hurt this boy but I am interested in what the teacher has to say and what video footage would show.
