In Austin, Texas, a white teacher was caught on camera telling his middle school students, some of them Black, that he believes his race is “superior.” NBC News’ Gadi Schwartz reports on how that school district recently announced that the teacher no longer works there as their community comes to terms with the disturbing video.

All people of color should teach the children of color to learn as much as they can while young and in school,be positive and respectful, that way whenever adulthood is reached they can show White People how wrong they are,

So here’s the thing… this is why its important to discuss race and other cultures and the role of racism, ethnocentrism and colonialization in class rooms. And no I don’t mean CRT, which isn’t even taught unless you’re in grad school. The fact is, we shouldn’t be afraid to confront and overcome these issues together. Is it uncomfortable? Yes. But imagine how those who live with its reality everyday feel. I’m sorry these students had to experience this. This teacher, ruined a relationship and trust.
