We've been in a recession since January, at least. Actually since December, 2021. It will take until July 28th to be "official". Biden will STILL say it is the "best economy in history"
It is the Fed who has the power to control most inflation. They favor Dems. If the Reps take power, the Fed will only go full steam on tightening, crushing asset prices. I am all for the Fed tightening, either party in power. But don’t be so quick to believe a Rep take in the election means inflation relief. Not so easy. None of the financial sector complained as we mortgaged the futures of our children on stimulating by cheap debt at every whiff of recession. The last 40 ys have been the most irresponsible fiscal and monetary demonstration in the history of our country. Tightening is the responsible, though painful, thing to do for future workers. Established power and wealth will tell you everything needs propped up to save the poor and middle class. It’s a ruse to keep their wealth and power. Not helpful to the commoner in the long run.
