We were in Maui two weeks ago. We had been putting off the trip for a few years, so we planned to go with another couple (my bff) and celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. We had a wonderful visit and had an amazing dinner in Lahaina and bought a piece of art from a guy to remind us of the most perfect place on Earth.
Today I realized the restaurant is gone, the art studio is gone and the images and stories are like scenes from an apocalypse. We have so many treasures in this world that are on the brink of disappearing forever. I’m shocked at how quickly things can change. My heart goes out to all the wonderful people in Maui who have lost land, businesses, homes, and loved ones.
Are used to live in Maalaea. In between Kihei and Lahaina. This is so sad my prayers go out to everybody there. 🙏🏼😩🥲
