  1. I'm really sorry they're going through.

At the same time, the middle class families, what happened to life insurance? I totally understand the single mother couldn't afford life insurance. But me and my dh took out life insurance when we got married when we were 22 and 23 years old. If something happened to either of us, it would be at least a decade before money might be an issue. If something happened to both of us, the kids would get a lot of money and insurance would cover college for them.

Our youngest died of cancer a year ago and his life insurance covered his burial and also meant we could afford to take 6 months off work to mourn him. After how awful that experience was, we upped our life insurance on our other two children because we needed more time. You need a lot of time to process the death of a loved one.

  2. My heart goes out to these precious children and their families.

  3. Thank you for putting the faces and stories of these families into the spotlight. It highlights that the losses are so much more than numbers. Thank you to the families for sharing their grief, losses, struggles and victories as they continue to press on from the heartbreaking losses they had to face. May God continue to be with them all.

  4. covid 19 is bad for us
i hop we don't die us as people

  5. So heartbreaking!! 🥀💔😓

  6. As a single parent, this is my worst fear 😭

  7. God is looking out for those kids.

  8. Vitamin d 3 regulates the immune system response. Most people are low or totally depleted. Especially if you live up north and have darker skin. I had covid and did ok because I beef up my system. Stay strong and take your supplements

  9. Very sad. I also notice that every one of these parents who died was significantly overweight, as risk factor for a bad outcome from Covid. As a busy parent, don’t forget to take time to keep yourself in shape, to avoid type 2 diabetes, and to keep your cardiovascular health strong, so that you can survive upper respiratory viruses, should you come down with one.

  10. This is something the entire world is dealing with not just Americans.
But none the less these children deserve to have their parents with them longer. 💔
When the girl talked about still texting her dad is when I started bawling. My bf lost his dad from covid and that is one of the things he did to start his healing.

  11. It's heart breaking 💔 😢 😪

  12. My heart breaks for you all 💔

  13. Thank you David. Great reporting and display of empathy and compassion.

  14. As an Educator this is what I feared most……I thought about this very early on in the Pandemic. Just imagine what the nurses went through delivering the news

  15. You can thank trump for much, if not most, of this

  16. This is heartbreaking.

  17. My heart aches and the lump in my throat for these children. The siblings stepping up for their younger siblings. The wives being both parents now..the relatives stepping up. The vaccine wasn’t and isn’t a cure all but it’s something over nothing

  18. Just the title alone, already had me in my feelings wanting to bawl before even watching this. Like I can't believe this is actually reality for many. Losing not just 1 but both parents. My heart goes out to everybody who lost a loved 1 due to this horrific pandemic. I wish this pandemic never existed. 😪

  19. These single parents and kids are strong. Thank you for letting time heal your wounds.

  20. It's disgusting that she can't take care of her own kids because her salary for teaching other people's kids is so pathetic.
It really is a stark picture of the reality of where our priorities lie as a country. I always go back to that classic comparison of a teacher's salary compared to that of a professional athlete.
My mother worked herself into an early grave teaching our future leaders. What is her autograph worth now? She was one of the real heroes.

  21. My heart goes out to all the children, moms, dads, grandparents, friends, and families who’s lives where cut short by covid. This is why we wear mask everywhere and we get vaccinated, because we want to protect others and ourselves from this kind of unspeakable loss.

  22. Im 34 and my parents are getting older. Im scared to lose them. I dont know how people, especially children, handle this.

  23. I see and feel sadness with families due to no fault of their own. I also see such strength and unity in the mist of their loss. Keep them covered dear Lord and give them the ongoing desire to show hope and continue to be hopeful
