  1. The only question I have for anyone who have children is would you allow a stranger off the street too watch your child for any amount of time bye themselves? Wait a minute I should of said parents who don't allow there child too have a phone? Nevermind i don't know anyone that doesn't have a child too not have one.. question answered. Too late a stranger already watches them 24-7..

  2. REPENT, FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND.

  3. The evil ones will always find a way to use it for notorious reasons.

  4. Eric shows his lack of current knowledge when he claims only a few companies will be able to afford the kind of strong AIs that the big guys currently have. Hardware will get better. Model architecture will get much, much better. Optimizations will be discovered. Current strong AI is already becoming very democratized (github is full of projects you can run on your laptop). And, the capabilities of the current strong AIs is much, much greater than we realize; we just need to use techniques such as automatic reflexion: getting, say, three different answers from GPT-4 and having it evaluate its own answers for correctness. This technique GREATLY increases the power of the models we already have. It can make a "small" 7B-parameter model almost as capable as a much, much bigger model.

  5. The propensity to use AI to discriminate against classes of individuals is immense.

  6. Are we asking the right questions. In a capitalistic country, where shareholder value is king, have you ever seen a corporation not utilize systems to increase profit margins and to establish monopoly. And the go to target to achieve this has always been labor. Sorry folks, I do not trust corporate entities, or the top profit engineers to put our well being as a top priority.

  7. I am excited to see what the future holds for AI, but I also know that it is important to be cautious. We need to make sure that we are using AI for the benefit of all people, and we need to be prepared for the challenges it may pose.

  8. What happens when departments of defense use A.I. to monitor other nuclear-armed countries, and A.I. suddenly tells you another country is about to launch a nuclear surprise first strike on you?

What happens when another country's A.I. thinks you're about to launch a surprise attack on them?

  9. You heard it here, after you die companies can obtain the right to use your likeness however they wish. This is the beginning of a dystopian future.

  10. Mentioning that there is no one capable in the government to understand this is a classic nerd talk "Everyone else is stupid.". I make fun of government like every other person but the average intelligence of their personnel is definitely higher than that of the average person in the whole population. If no one capable really exists in the government today then someone such should be installed.

  11. A.I. will be both fantastic and terrifying depending on who is using it and how it is used. Criminals, for sure, will want in on this for their own evil ways. I hope the guard rails are strong on them.

  12. They won’t cure cancer. They never will. IF they ever do they will create another disease to make up for the loss of cash flow. The government is already a one world power. They are all just pretending to be at war. And those who aren’t, they are pawns being pitted against each other by the puppet master to make sure it seems legit. We all need to realize they DONT.GIVE.A.FUCK.

  13. Pretty arrogant of him to call it arrogant. Look at the clowns we have in government and imagine them trying to process what this tech means? Its embarrassing to think people with little to no scientific or computer background could meaningfully regulate this on their own.

  14. Quality balanced reporting, MtP – especially the first 14:52. The 2nd part was far less impt and arguably beneath MtP reporting standards – as in MtP should not be wasting resources reporting on that stuff, which begs the question – did those two interviewees in that last segment pay to be on MtP to promote their own projects?

  15. There was a Black Mirror episode about recreating a person that died, they used the same premises they were just talking about using info already out there. Like dickens said "It was the best of times , it was the worst of times".

  16. Anything you claim A.I. might do, people already try to do. So relax.

  17. An AI engine designed to fix the climate will get rid of humans to stop us from using fossil fuels… that's the simplest solution, right? Build in some rule to stop it killing people, it will disable us with some surprising method like introducing sedatives into our food/water so that we don't use fossil fuels… get the drift?

  18. An AI engine designed to "win" doesn't have morals… if it can destroy to win, it will… Writing "ethics" into AI is impossible because there are countless factors that it is not aware of and cannot know/account for.

  19. "Almost a 1/3 of mental illness starts in childhood"… if this is true, every THIRD person you meet suffers from mental illness to a greater of lesser degree… OR you are the peson with the illness! This cannot be true.

  20. I almost didn't watch this video… if the title has Meet the Press in it, I will always watch it. Great program. Kudos.

  21. Cool that they got cruella deville to sit for an interview

  22. 22:57 when she admitted ethics isnt a part of it. Just accomodating the sponsor.

  23. I want to see A.I. unlock physics and advance nanotechnology so that bullets can be nullified. These mass shootings are ridiculous.

Or maybe A.I. can help identify brain patterns that expose who of us feels their addiction to guns supercedes the average citizens basic human right to just live without fear of being mowed down.

  24. Hopefully it can be used to democratize healthcare in the future

  25. Maybe we will get lucky and AI will blow up the world. Now it's been ten thousand years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what, he never knew, now man's reign is through
But through eternal night, the twinkling of starlight
So very far away, maybe it's only yesterday

In the year 2525, if man is still alive
If woman can survive, they may find. 😊

  26. Soul is not measured by physical laws, regardless a.I . Has no soul no critical thinking process of human. Where reason not logic, but still right thing to do.

  27. how could it be good for us. when we can even see when we are being lied too by are boss and are goverment. why give it controll of are life it will live forever we have a avg life spand of 72 years ther need to be limet to it power over the pepols of are country and the world.

  28. They will try to use A.I. to not only predict if you are likely to commit a crime–even to the point of knowing what you're capable of better than you may know what you're capable of–, but I can see banks and insurance companies using A.I. to determine if they should loan you money and at what rate and if they should insure you and at what rate.

A.I. will give the top 1% the ability to control workers like never before in history.

States may use A.I. to predict whether you will likely break the law and possibly take your license away.

Landlords will use A.I. to see if they should rent you an apartment or a house.

Employers will use A.I. to determine whether they should hire, promote, or fire you.

The government will use A.I. to analyze your tax records.

Most troubling, a dictator could use A.I. to determine which citizens are likely plotting against him and so know which citizens to round up and imprison.

But worry not. A.I. knows that if you've done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear.

  29. AI will never be AI as long as it is programmed by HUMANS.

  30. Amazing, Deep-Dive into A.I. ❤❤❤

  31. Thou shalt make thee no molten gods. (Exodus 34:17)

  32. Sorry but it's clear you don't know what your saying don't compare my creations with those that are against we the people don't fear first find the truth and you will see. Who I am

  33. ,,, who will guard th' guardians!! ,,, and they say,, again, let us self-regulate …

  34. What I want in AI is PERSONALIZED service and experience. I don't like anything out right now (ChatGPT, Bard, Bing, etc.) because my experience is just like everyone else's. It has all the gee-whiz excitement of a really great vending machine. I want my AI experience to be MINE. Siri and Google Assistant do some cool things for sure, but there is no real flavor to it. To me, they're very convenient, like a nice doorknob when I want to walk through a door. I would like my AI to really know who I am and address me by name. Get to know my preferences (food, music, interests, etc). But most importantly, I want my AI to act as my personal assistant. And one that I can choose a name for and responds to my voice.

I want to be able to speak to my AI just the same way as someone would speak to their personal assistant. I want it to be nice and say good morning to me after I hit stop on my alarm on my phone and "did you sleep well?" – and respond accordingly. I want to speak conversationally with it like: "how does my day look" and tell me about my appointments. I want it to be able to tell me: "John?" "Yes Bard?" "Your 2:30 appointment this afternoon for the dentist should take you approximately 20 minutes to drive there from here, so you'll want to be ready to leave by 2:10 the latest." "Okay, thank you. Please give me a reminder 5 minutes before I need to leave." "Will do!".

Again, like a personal assistant I would like to say something like: "Hey Bard" "Yes John?" "I feel like going out to dinner tonight. Can you recommend a couple places?" "Of course, what type of cuisine and or establishment are you in the mood for?" "Italian, casual." "Okay, I see there are 7 casual Italian restaurants within a 15 minute drive from where you are. 3 of which have an average rating of 4 out of 5 on Google and Yelp." "Sounds good. Please check with my wife and see if she is free for dinner at 6:00 PM." "Yes, I checked her schedule with her assistant and she appears to be free. Would you like me to call her for you so you can confirm?" "Yes, thank you." / "Okay Bard, we are on for dinner tonight. Could you please call the restaurant and make reservations for the two of us for 6:30? Thank you."

Besides being able to assign a name for my AI assistant, I would also like to be able to customize their voice and eventually their persona (snarky, funny, make, female, etc., etc.). I (and I think everyone else) would like a virtual personal assistant that is smart, knows me, my information, my data, my family and friends and my likes and dislikes. And I want to be able to have the assistant act just as a human personal assistant could. Audio only would be just fine at first, then it would be nice to be able to create and customize an avatar capable of facial expressions to have conversations with. Then I would like it to be my virtual personal assistant / secretary / security / gate keeper by answering my calls and emails, interfacing with the personal AI's of my friends and family, and placing calls and messages on my behalf.

Whatever company can provide this type of service which would make my daily life easier, I would pay a very generous monthly fee and patronize their entire ecosystem. So get cracking! The FIRST company that can deliver what I just described will get me (and I think many others) and pretty much cement themselves as the real technology innovator for the foreseeable future. Whoever comes in 2nd place just might be out of the game altogether.

  35. ,,, brave,, brilliant, wide-awake woman !! … respect n kudos …

  36. I wish you asked them why they were funded by the DOD.

  37. World changing.. yeah y’all seen iRobot? this crazy SOB is building Viki.. a dictatorship will rise from this.

  38. The only guard rail the AI owners would have in mind is PROFIT!
i do believe, independent developers were motivated to use AI to solve problems they encounter in their jobs.
Not all thought of profit initially, but GREED is what will make AI dangerous to man.

  39. AI is a new trouble world since the atomic energy invention. AI can and will make the bad evolve into the infinity to suppress the good. Pessimistic scientists quietly agree that the AI is a new satanic invention to make china control the U.S. It sounds odd but china, the totalitarian society, is already massively investing its existing computing power to its sole AI domination purpose.

  40. They just lamented that the tech companies are saying a lot of this stuff is beyond many's education level, but equating AI visuals to cut and paste? Sheesh…

  41. Is Jacob Ward – a – giant ?

  42. Someone needs to get involved before these folks create something that mankind cannot control 😢
