Cryptocurrencies are unregulated. Securities are regulated. With securities, there are laws that state you can’t transfer a client’s money from, say, a mutual fund to a fund that trades derivatives. I don’t think there’s a similar law for cryptocurrencies. (But maybe I’m wrong.) Have watched a lot about this trial and haven’t heard any specifics of what laws he specifically broke.
