Idk. Doesn't the constitution say ONLY state electors can change election rules? In the 2020 election politicians changed rules to benefit their party. Like allowing drop off voting to drop boxes. That wasn't legal before covid and the electors didn't say that was ok. Politicians did. Thats wrong. Biased politicians shouldn't make election laws period.
Republicans are attacking our elections, the very core of democracy – from trying to have elections overturned to limiting who can vote they are a huge threat to our country's values of freedom and inclusion.
They probably did it to put us off guard for an even bigger, insane, fascist ruling. All but 3 of these people are liars and intellectual frauds.
Paradoxically, this decision confirms and affirms that State Legislatures have supreme power over the State Supreme Court in matters of elections.
Here's how: Almost all state constitutions enshrine in writing very clearly that the Legislature has PLENARY POWER in matters of elections.
Plenary means supreme, not subject to oversight and capable of unilateral action.
Therefore, with the US Supreme Court making this North Carolina ruling requiring the legislature to follow their constitution means,
they are inferring that the State Legislature has PLENARY POWER if that is what the State Constitution says and for most states, that is exactly the case.
Surpising isn't it ?
This means for example that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court over-stepped it's authority in the 2020 Presidential Election when it allowed mail-in-ballots to be submitted well after the election deadline date of November 3rd, 2020. Neither the state supreme court nor the US supreme court can unilaterally change the manner and timing of elections.
That action was a violation and in contravention to the Pennsylvania State Constitution which clearly states that only the State Legislature has PLENARY POWER in matters of elections.
On that basis alone, the entire (s)election for 2020 can be thrown out. And it will be thrown out. Mark my words.
That time is coming.
