Navajo nation is not ‘a group’ for goodness sake. The Navajo are a sovereign nation whose lands Americans have stolen in defiance of the rule of law & in defiance of human rights. Good grief.
How did the "checker-board" property ownership issue begin in the first place?
Was it always that way when the Reservation boundaries were first created?
Or,
Was it originally Navajo Reservation land that they lost control of/sold off?
Interestingly enough, the news story has left out this crucial piece of information.
I’m not a Native American, but if I was I’d certainly have my reservations.
