I’m helping my daughter . Cant take it with me. Move to NC. Building townhouse communities like crazy in the 290-300 range. Young people buying them. And getting on with their lives.Get away from the cities that you think you need to be in , and take a leap of faith.
You know years ago there was two and three generations living in the same house. Everyone worked together everyone pulled their way and they made it work.
Adult children? No. You are either one or the other. If you don't have a handicap, get your butt in gear and get out of your parent's house.

A combination of coddled youths, bad parenting and a poor economy. I lean more towards the first two. If you work hard with your mind, soul, and physicality, you can always make a modest living, in my experience.
My granddaughter rents a room, works, and attends college full time.

I make more than my grandmother and my mother make about the same as me. I can't afford a house, and my mother or grandmother cant help with a down payment. So where do they get all this data frome?
You're going to see a lot of Boomer mothers living with their children. I know a lot of women in their 60's who basically have little or no savings for retirement, and SS just isn't going to make it.
