I agree with all points Jocko said, however, the wounds of Vietnam will not heal until Americans face an uncomfortable truth. Vietnam was a conflict as they said at the time, not a war. War must be officially declared before rules of the Hague convention apply to POWs. Just like now, the U.S. is waging war without declaring it in Ukraine. All those who fought over there in Vietnam are American heroes, no doubt. However, McNamara and the other "hawks" need to be held accountable for making bad decisions on the use of our military. The same applies at the present time and situation with Ukraine.
