You can’t make exception to certain EU countries that they don’t have to participate in embargo. The whole NATO alliance thingy isn’t even fair. USA and UK did like 80% of all the work, while other countries are barely sending any money or weapons. They just join NATO for the benefit of article 5 for protection, but not willing to contribute for the cause of defending justice.

Even if all the European and the west agree to the sanctions, that’s only analogous to closing the windows. Russia still has too many doors wide open to trade with countries such as China, India, vietnam, countries that fully support Russia on the invasion.
Sanctions don’t work unless the majority agree. The problem is that Russia will continue to carry out its businesses through the back and side doors with China and India. Russia is trading through those back and side doors, while the west in turn buy from those countries. What’s the point of closing the windows when you leave the doors wide open?

Soon their leaders will be voted off , see what is happening in UK now. If you cannot feed your kids and have to move out from your flat , you will not be interested whether Ukraine is part of Russia or not. Sanctions will not stop the war and will hurt Russia partly and temporarily.

I think by now Zelensky realised the mistake he did by expecting too much from NATO and EU.
If I was Zelensky, I would demand all EU to seal all the sanction loopholes. My citizen is dying everday. If I was Germany, I need to think of the impact of not buying Russian gas to my people.
