That was just insane thing goverment done. They stole Lavra from truly believers and gave it to a sort of pocket church with Epifany in charge. Last ones claim themselves to be "the truly Ukrainian church" however they're more political party rather than a church. Amount of dirt they throw into their competitors (with Onufrii in charge) by calling them "moscowite" is just incredible. Its the worst time in the history of Ukraine in meaning of religious freedoms completely erased with the help of Ukrainian goverment. I'm saying it with a great pain in my heart as I'm living in Ukraine. We're on the brink of disaster – goverment wants to ban "uncomfortable church" so it'll be illegal to praise God for some categories of people.
By reclaimed you mean stolen by the state, after outlawing and robbing the Ukranian Orthodox Church.

Ukrainians and Russians were originally one people.
Kyiv is known as "the Mother of Russian Cities."
And the Ukrainian Orthodox Church broke away from the Russian Orthodox Church.
So, instead of using the word "reclaimed," the word "stolen" should be used.
The Ukrainians have been practicing genocide against the Russians in Ukraine, and there are bioweapons labs there, and NATO has been expanding its membership (for no good reason) right up to Russia's borders.
This is why Putin invaded Ukraine.
To safeguard his people.
And the US, through its NATO minions, wants to expand its power and economic reach (as well as its immoral culture.)
And certain Europeans, who love immoral American culture (and any economic benefits, of course) readily accede to becoming members of NATO
And the evil, war-mongering American media will support the US government in whatever it does.
And all those Americans, who let the media determine what they're to think, and what they're to feel, will support the US in its hypocritical demonization of, and aggression against, Russia.
Imagine if the situation were reversed, and Russia wanted to make Mexico one of its allies (and even put bases in there.)

I grew up Ukrainian orthodox, it is a total distortion of Biblical Christianity. Both Russian and orthodox “Christians” are killing each other when Jesus commanded to love your enemies and whoever takes up the sword will perish with the sword. They don't believe orthodox adults need to be told to be born again as Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3 despite Nicodemus’ infant circumcision, they reject the doctrine of the imputed righteousness of Christ/justification by faith apart from works taught by Paul in the book of Romans, they reject the sufficiency of Scripture as taught by Paul in 2 Timothy 3:15-16, they put up an altar screen when God tore it down in the death of Christ in Mark 15:37-38, they commit the sin of idolatry by burning incense to icons as the Israelites did in 2 Kings 18:4, they break the command not to bear false witness by creating false images of Christ, they call sinful men by the religious title “father” contrary to Christ’s command in Matthew 23:9.

It is a monastery of the Moscow Patriarch since 1051. Most Orthodox in Ukraine are in the jurisdiction of the Moscow Patriarch which extends beyond the borders of Russia even to America. It is not part of the Russian government. This is thievery. Two wrongs do not make a right.
