What I don’t understand is how doesn’t at least 1 involved party have constant aerial coverage of the entire enclave? Shouldn’t there be an extremely clear and convincing video showing who shot what? I understand that some Palestinian/Israeli sources would be hesitant to release such footage if it shows they are actually accountable. I also understand there are constantly planes in the sky, satellites focused in on the situation, drones surveying the areas and videos on the ground, and that a 3rd party should be able to clarify the situation. How is there not damning evidence that can be released that will silence doubt one way or the other?
I understand Palestinians and the Arab world will blame Israel and not believe Israeli or United States statements no matter the evidence because it contradicts their narrative and worldview (and they’ve been lied to before), and in a way, even if it was a misfire by Islamist Jihad, it was indirectly ultimately a consequence of being bombarded by air strikes from Israel, in their opinion. Still, I think the releasing of such footage to clarify responsibility would ameliorate the situation to a moderate degree
