For every 1 degree increase in the Celsius scale, the air's capacity for water vapor goes up by about 7%. More water in the air means it'll come down harder, when it eventually condenses back into a liquid and falls back down as precipitation. Doesn't matter if people believe it or not, but the average global temperature has noticeably been trending upwards since the late 1970's. The temperature increases for 2019, 2020, and 2020 alone were 0.98 C, 1.02 C, and 0.85 C, respectively (data sourced from NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies or GISS).
