At the University of Virginia, a shooting left three football players dead and two other students injured. After a 12 hour search, the suspect – also a University of Virginia student – is now in custody. NBC News’ Ryan Nobles reports on the tragedy.

Americans love their stupid assault rifles and keep doing nothing about it. What a crazy country… The killings are among at least 68 shootings this year on US school grounds, including 15 on college campuses. The incident also is among some 600 US mass shootings this year in which at least four people were shot, excluding a gunman, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
Too bad they can't bother to include some more details, as in maybe a multi-paragraph piece? I have no interest in listening to a video clip. I know, that is my issue, not yours.
Probably drug related. The other two that weren't pictured or eulogized don't really count since they were not football players.
This hits so close to home. I grew up on UVA football and worked in UVA Sports Medicine for 7 years. So sad to see lives cut short like this. Prayers for all involved.
Reduce the charges to reckless manslaughter and we can claim the murder rate is going down.

That’s so weird because this past week I’ve thinking of old Donell Jones songs that I enjoyed & I haven’t listened to or thought of them since fresh out of high school. I remember listening to that during FB season when I played linebacker going to dances & parties. I was thinking that walking through Walmart just a few hrs ago & remembering how Jaime could sing just like him but was never famous & last time I saw only a cook. Surreal.

wow, he gratefully only managed to shoot into that bus and get three people…he tried to get way more than that…there should be multiple attempted murder charges for each person on there..plus three murder charges..all those charges should stick like super glue and at minimum provide endless life sentences..similar to what that oklahoma cop got for raping dozens of down and out women. stop being soft on crime and it will go down..hard time in dungeon like prison is far better deterrent than so called gun control..also why are all these mass shooters being gingerly arrested? instead of being severely manhandled and barely allowed to SURVIVE their arrest? so many other crooks are slaughtered under a hail of bullets by police for far less? go figure? at least we did not have yet another race hate crime to stir up out poor nation..that said…throw all the books at him
