It's ridiculous how those sirens are meant only for tsunami. It should be for ALL disasters and let the people decide what to do.

Should have a system where they all receive a text message, along with the siren. We have that where I live in Australia. With a text message there would have been clear instructions to evacuate due to fire, which would eliminate his tsunami theory.

Hawaii test their sirens once a month! That’s 12 test a year. In central Ohio whered I’ve lived 28 years we’ve never had a tornado but we test our sirens 48 times a year in OHIO!!! A state where he have ZERO hurricanes or wildfires.
You would not hear the sirens unless your windows were open or you were standing outside. I’m like 300ft from a siren and sleep through the weekly test all the time.
Blame the morons who have live power lines above ground in an area where hurricanes and Wildfires occur. Ohio all new builds electrical wires are underground for this exact reason

What we really need is to centralize large Diesel generators with multiple outlets providing electricity. The generators can be positioned in areas where most need it we can run extension cords to multiple locations to provide light and other electrical needs to our ohana in need now, The city and county State of Hawaii Federal government and all branches of military also Red Cross can fund these generators and will provide a faster service to the need our community then we could wait for infrastructure to be rebuilt.
It is a great idea to remind China how long S. Korea, Japan have been U.S. trading partners.
