Polling on Trump versus everyone else running, including President Biden is absolutely going to be way off from reality for several reasons. The most obvious is that the polls represent people who like to answer polls, and in this case are most likely passionate about their chosen candidate.
Then there's the 'depends on who's asking' factor. I remember back to the Obama campaigns, people were literally afraid to publicly support Barack Obama even with bumper stickers and t-shirts because they didn't want to put their property and lives at risk, they just wanted to vote, safely.
Fact is, if you're not supporting Trump you're being discouraged from voting at all. Certainly not the majority, but a significant number of Trump supporters are actually violent. If you publicly support anyone else, you're at risk of anything from being refused services to vandalism and possibly even being assaulted resulting in injury or death.
Just look at what's happening with supporting Israel versus Palestine, or neither, or both. That's only a fraction of the chaos you're going to see with Trump.

Well, the truth of the matter is the Jewish people are the aggressors in this conflict. They are the ones who have been systematically displacing Palestinians and have repeatedly called for their elimination. You can’t behave in that way then expect people to pat you on the back. They are going to come after you. If Jewish students feel unsafe, they need to take that up with Benjamin Netanyahu and demand he stop the war and work out a solution that doesn’t involve killing.
