It’s not really fair to lump RSV into that pandemic concept. RSV is really a problem amongst the really young children in America. We normally have a time in our lives when all of us are exposed to RSV that usually when we’re young and we go out of the house and start interacting with other children. Some child would catch it other children would catch it from them they get sick. Everyone will get better and we developed immunity to the RSV virus. As adults we’ve already had it, so we really don’t get RSV again not that it can’t be caught again. It’s that it’s not severe if we do catch it and most of the time we don’t even notice it.
Our issue now is most of the children who would’ve gotten RSV is young children when they first started preschool or kindergarten to start going to daycare well they were at home during the COVID-19 pandemic so we suddenly had all of those kids who had no illness go out into the world and they all got it at once. They’re all getting it at once . It’s just something we are going to have to work through.
One thing for sure if you can get a flu vaccine for free like we can in the United States you should get one. If you are not up-to-date on all three COVID-19 shots, you should get them. What you want to do is reduce your chances of getting infected and reduce the chance of severity. Should you get infected. That way if you get sick and you can go home as soon as possible. If you get sick, we want to reduce the chances of illness that normally might not really be Trumatic from getting traumatic. The flu his killed before Covent 19 is killed before RSV has killed before since we have opportunities to reduce the chance of severe illness. We should take it.
