  1. this is not new

  2. Hi! It’s not as risky as you think, thousands of people are successfully doing this every day

  3. This only happens in a stupid country as the US. No one is obliged to comply with an air ticket nor going till the end destination. If you want to exit before the end it's up to you and no other.

  4. So skipagging is horrible, but my flights being oversold is perfectly acceptable. The gall of the airlines to complain. It’s so fun arriving 2 hours early only to be told your flight has been overbooked. Hypocrisy.

  5. If you found a way to use a Star Trek transporter, these greedy companies would still think you owe them something.

  6. But the airlines, get away with overselling tickets…so you pay more, & get bumped if stuck in tsa

  7. "you could end up in a lot of trouble with the airlines"? LOL – airlines has no right anywhere at anytime to tell me I have to get on a plane and go to another city. Good luck with that. Wake me up when someones thrown in prison over it. Not gonna happen.

  8. Skip lagging or fly Spirit. I'll skip lag.

  9. Gio is still Transpo Correspondent? I thought he got promoted to Weekend GMA..??

  10. You could cause massive delays skiplagging with checked luggage because ground handling would have to offload your bags at the layover. So you could potentially get your checked luggage back in e.g. LA in the given example, yet that would be very unethical. On the other hand if cabin crew only made you check your hand luggage to the baggage compartment whilst boarding, you´d usually get it back first things at the aircraft on the layover as they wouldn´t check it through to the final destination. At least that is my experience with smaller aircraft that have tighter luggage compartments and outside boarding

  11. Gate checked bags do not end up at the final destination. You get them back when you get off the plane

  12. 'A lot of trouble'…absolute nonsense

  13. so, if i buy a Coke, and only drink half of it, Coca Cola will sue me – what a load of BS. Only an airline would think if this.

  14. You RISK……NOT getting killed in a plane crash on the 2nd leg.

  15. The US domestic airlines are constantly taking advantage of customers, eliminating in-flight services, packing passengers into planes like sardines, and price gouging. They treat us like this despite being bailed out by taxpayer dollars. Scumbags.

  16. Every time I’ve gate-checked a carry-on bag, it’s always returned to me on the jetbridge when we land. I’ve only flown delta, so maybe that doesn’t apply with every airline?

  17. Man has been trying to get something for nothing since the very beginning. Not surprised at all.

  18. Why is getting on the naughty list with an airline a problem? Because there are only 4-ish..

  19. Oooh… you could "Get in trouble with the airline"… no specific examples given, so I'm guessing no real consequences.

  20. Thank you for sharing.

  21. They keep saying "risk" "getting into trouble" !!! Seriously? Omg!!!! Its another crisiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis!!!!

  22. Thank you Airline sponsored ad. You tried to scare people but guess what? you told even the ones who did not know about it. Thank you!! Now i knw that i need to find aseattle ticket to get to la cheap.

  23. haha, this is a sponsored ad by airlines to scare you. HAha. I am pretty sure that this is illegal to scare people on free will.

  24. "You may get in trouble with the airline" The airline doesn't give a s*t about you. Period.

  25. I’m missing the part where there are any real consequences. It’s legal. Just like their price gouging. End of story.

  26. Question ain't u still lose money bc u still spend the 500 even if u dont connect to ur next flight or ima getting it wrong

  27. Last time I checked i paid the fare, i can get off whenever i want

  28. Lol, pretty good idea actually. Thanks for letting us know about it 😂

  29. Screw the airlines.

  30. In considering the customer experience and efficient management of resources, it's clear that airlines should re-evaluate their current strategy of overbooking flights. This common practice, while economically beneficial for the airlines, often leads to significant inconveniences for travelers, such as last-minute changes, delays, and the stressful situation of being bumped from a flight due to overbooking.

By choosing not to overbook, airlines can improve their customer service, foster a more reliable reputation, and ensure that passengers can travel with the certainty that their seats are secured. This approach aligns with the primary objective of an airline – to provide an efficient, comfortable, and reliable travel experience for passengers.

While acknowledging the financial rationale behind overbooking, it's important to balance this with the needs and satisfaction of customers. Adopting a policy against overbooking may require adjustments in operations and ticketing systems, but ultimately, it would serve to enhance the overall passenger experience and protect the integrity of the airline.

  31. The only blame here is 100% on the airlines for optimized pricing strategies. Airlines also enabled this by encouraging travelers to carry on luggage.

  32. we got to Australia and back with this system. Saved a fortune☺☺☺

  33. I suspect that if you don’t board the connecting flight, your checked luggage gets removed. For safety, pilots don’t like having checked luggage without the corresponding passenger on board.

  34. They act like the airlines aren’t over booking and over selling seats. 🤔
