Tropical storm Hilary hits the Southwest



Emergency services, government officials, and locals across the Southwest are assessing and reacting to the damage from intense flooding and mudslides after tropical storm Hilary. NBC Newsโ€™ Erin McLaughlin reports on the destruction in California.

  33. Outside of desert communities, we just saw steady or heavy rains. It was non-news. They really shouldโ€™ve localized the warning to the desert areas that already have a history of flooding even during normal raining seasons. Instead of creating mass panic across Southern California like it was going to be the end for all of us. But thatโ€™s the media for you.
