First, there were victims. When people commit financial and real estate fraud, it affects the market for everyone. Second, a crime is a crime period. If you drive drunk even if you didn't kill anyone, you are still guilty of drunk driving. There is no legal ambiguity. Trump is guilty of financial and real estate and tax fraud. It's that simple. I'm no Trump fan but this verdict is troubling. If a bank decides to be lazy and just take someone's opinion as to what their own property is worth, then that's the bank's problem. If he'd defaulted on the loans, THEN they might have a case but that didn't happen, the loans were in good standing. There really were no victims here.
Its a losing argument. First he had to put up the funds or bond to even appeal.
The tax rates involved in these loans were affected therefore the victims were not only the banks but, the whole state of New York who could have used the funds that ended up being fraudulent that the banks were denied though tax evasion on trumps side to help New Yorkers across the board with infrastructure, social programs and more is the whole in this scenario.
