In case you haven’t heard, while CNN, ABC, NBC, & CBS have been obsessing over the Trump indictment regarding presidential records, the House Oversight Committee has alleged President Biden and members of his family received over $10M and possibly up to $30M in bribes from foreign interests while he was VP. You’d think allegations of massive corruption by the sitting US President would at least get a mention in the news. You’d think the press would be curious enough to ask the President about it. If the allegations are not true—and I hope that turns out to be the case—you’d think the President would want to address it (beyond just dismissing it all as “malarkey” and insulting a reporter for asking). Maybe nobody here cares that we might have the most corrupt administration in US history as long as Trump goes to prison for… something/anything… thought it was worth mentioning, though. 28 US Code 455 is the reason Judge Cannon must remove herself or be removed under law. Ruling against Trump would be perceived as her trying to redeem herself, or a rule for would be perceived as furtherance to her previous interference in the case. That's why this law exists and she must be removed one way or another to follow the law.
