His lack of self control is the whole point, why he is on trial. He is answerable, not them, and must answer, however hard it makes life for his legal advisers. Although they can speak for him, they cannot supplant him completely. The only other path open is to find him insane, delusional, which is certainly possible. Amusingly, just as the American Constitution does not impede a felon from standing for President, neither does it preclude most of the insane.
