"Grossly unfair!" What are you talking about? Courts have rules for a reason…. To keep criminal defendants from trying to make irrelevant arguments. Defendants use lawyers as representatives because defendants typically don't know the rules of the court. Lawyers are called representatives for a reason. They are supposed to understand the rules of the Court, and understand their client's defense. Donald Trump trying to make closing arguments is absurd. Why would he pay millions of $ to very expensive lawyers if he could do the job himself? Ie. He is incapable of performing the duties of a lawyer.
