In Maryland, two people were on board a plane that crashed into a utility tower and spent hours stranded above ground, causing both to suffer traumatic injuries. NBC News’ Tom Costello has the latest on the rescue.

Why didn't the tower collapse into it's own footprint?
Isn't that what steel structures do?
That's why I don't buy a plane.
How they figured out how to get those people and that plane down and how it crashed without exploding or killing the passengers is pretty crazy though I guess it's not a fast plane and was slowing down on approach.
