US Economy is still short of jobs and the Fed will raise rates. That has to be the dumbest move ever.
Nixon kept prices and wage stable, neither could go up, employers could not raise prices and workers could not demand higher wages, while the economy was in a recession. Why couldn’t Powell recommend Biden do a wage-price freeze to Congress? Powell’s decision at the Board brings harm to workers, his policy will impel workers to demand higher wages, he pours oil on the fire, there will be wild cat strikes and more disruptions to the supply chain and as a cruel reaction to these worker demands the employers will raise prices and keep their capital in the bank earning high interest. Powell makes it easier for them, he fortifies the decision to not invest their capital in the US, but to keep it outside of the US…and with at least 12 billion in foreign holdings those higher rates will enrich foreign claims on our economy will have to pay before Americans are paid, this to me is a signal of impending social catastrophe.

The unemployment rate only includes people currently receiving unemployment payments. If your benefits have expired or you didn't qualify for unemployment you are not in those stats.
