Clearly, neither party can be trusted to fix the problems in DC, they will increase the debt ceiling because the alternative is much worse, the record-high debt ceiling is because the US government is giving away its tax base to multinational companies and bending over backward for imports, President Clinton, Obama, and Trump wanted tariffs, and Biden is trying the build EVs in the US (thing), we’ve got to build stuff in the US, it simple, anything, not food, should probably have a VAT (value added tax) place on it, vehicles, tech, etc would have this VAT and take that revenue generated from the VAT to start paying down the US National debt
