When the U.S. gets into another war, Raytheon will tell D.C. to reinstate the draft…and the war machine will do as it's told.
Privatize the military. The old ways are gone. The core values that we were taught were based on lies for political gain of courpt politicians to gain wealth.

That’s because men aren’t men anymore. If I didn’t have a disability I would of went in but even if you did we would come home to nothing and treated as if you were crap.
When you start talking about how you get treated in the military, the racism, the corruption, the human testing and what the incentives are to trade for a ruined life, things don't look that appealing. Then fight for what, a few billioners that don't really care? for unemployment never paid? for the shameful covid response in this country? The brewing of dissidents inside the military that are willing to take arms to follow a buffoon? I cant blame the new millennial riddled with mental illness and devoid of interest to stay as far as possible to the military. Only violent people join just to pull the trigger. What a crowd, just like police.
Prisoners can do it. Homeless people can do it. Immigrants can do it. I got to build America, are you going to do it?
I respect our vets but times are changing. People are not living to survive but to compete for a better quality of life through interacting with people. People are tired of being considered assembly line workers just doing enough to live day by day. People in this generation want to be creators innovators in a world where information and interaction is a both a form of status and happiness.
Have the sons and daughters of the Congress and Senate fill the gap. Even their grandkids can sign up.
If a war breaks out with China, guess what the alternative would be??? “Draft” !
No one wants to serve under Biden. He shows weakness and it’s gonna be us trying to carry his burdens. God bless this country but we need a real man in the White House

Some young people are not stupid. They see what's going on in America.
The navy was the highest paying job for me. I don't regret it. But I'd never do it again. I had a Chief who loved to abuse his subordinates and I have chronic foot pain now. GI bill was nice, but I went to a horrible CA college, so that had little value to me.
Like he said people are not going into the military . Not helping the countries objectives . What objectives . Stock prices for military contractors . Or trying to throw out another person running a different country the government does not like . Sure start a draft . And start with every politicians kids first in or grandkids . Then draft all of age Stock traders or their kids . All C.E.Os kids of age and their grandchildren . Then after this go send a draft notice to others . But its about the country . Well the country is all about talking equal rights . Well then the draft should reflect that . But it would not .
One Word = Politics
Seems like Americans are more interested in fighting against their own government than joining the military…

I’m 33 and want to join the military’ but I can’t I have a weak cardio because of smoking and got sick of Covid. I can’t run for 2miles but I can carry a lot of heavy things and can do push ups and sit ups.

If MEPs would stop disqualifying everyone for everything then u would have ppl joining! Apart from that allow ppl with former health issues and small non violent offenses join. U would b surprised at how many ppl would join if they lowered the standards to join then allow the military to build and shape them when they’re in
If things get critical I could see the draft coming back, considering where we're at in the world today!!! What choice would we have?

I reach 15 years in the Air Force in 10 years and I can't wait to reach 20 and dip. I had to have major knee surgery last year and my back stays messed up for multiple reasons. I'm under paid, under utilized and they changed the promotion system to the point where I haven't been promoted in 7 years. I went from loving to serve my country to this just being a job I'm waiting to leave because of poor leadership from top down. Everyone now only looks out for themselves and I do not blame anyone for not joining.
Mandatory 2 years of military enlistment like in other countries

Well, they don’t want to be a sacrifice for nonsense war. This country continues to send money overseas when we need it here. Our own tax money that we shouldn’t even be paying to the government! Really? Anyone surprised no one is signing their lives away to the government? Nope!
4:02 9/11 and Pearl Harbor are two different events! 9/11 was trigger by the CIA, they supplied the terrorist to goes against the Soviet Union! Pearl Harbor was during ww2 and was a military attack by Japan.

Jacobs mentioned the Philippines. Many Filipinos used to join the Navy so they could get citizenship. What's happening now is people from all over the world just walk across the border and get in.

Yea i think they should have thouvht about how they treated vets not realizing they have families. People are going to see how they struggled and where just ued and spit out after with no help.

I’m sure it is a problem because somehow it’s 2023 and we still haven’t fixed racism. Why would I put my life on the line for some racist dude who isn’t gonna have my back in a firefight.
I can respect the military, but I can't respect the notion of our foreign intervention. Bin Laden is dead, all the other 9/11 leaders are dead. I'm not fighting for anything unless it's to defend the soil I live on. In WW2 Japan and Germany declared war on America, two powerful militarys a that time. US being the most powerful military fighting people who live in straw huts and mud compounds who don't even know what New York is anymore is what I will Not devote my time nor my life to pursuing. Unless China or Russia attacks our sovereignty directly, they don't need me.
As a veteran I stood up to serve the country, and at every turn the federal government has blown smoke and treated the combat wounded with contempt and as an inconvenient expense. It's an absolute scam.
You would have to be VERY desperate to join the military right now. If you get injured, you have to use the VA, which is subpar medical care.
