The number of pro-Russian ideologues here is stunning.
Here are facts:
1. We've tried what you're suggesting in 30s last century, the problem only got bigger and eventually hundreds of millions died. There are good reasons to stop the aggression before it grows.
2. You either have values or you don't. If you don't you're no better than China, Russia, Iran or North Korea. It's your choice who you are.
3. Economy is not a zero sum game. Spending can actually be a good thing. More production, more jobs, modernized defensive capabilities etc.
4. If nothing else, having Ukraine keeping Russia (an official adversary of NATO countries) occupied for the next 50 years is a great "chess move".
A little less factual: I want to stop a fascist regime from killing people. It's part of my values. I hope it's not just me, but I'm willing to sacrifice more than just 1-2$ at the gas pump to see Ukraine win.
