  1. Doesn't effect me at all I never wanted to ever be part of an Union I don't need more pay I'm not money hungry I just want 40 hrs a week job and go to church on Sundays it doesn't pay to be part of a Union nobody owes them anything.

  2. Economy already CRAP, Govt not helping. JIGANTIC CEO BONUS's & WAGES have driven AUTO PRICE's HIGH already. Split some diffrences here CORPERATION TOPS".

  3. I remember GM,s SLOGAN from not to distant past, PEOPLE WORKING TOGETHER TO SECURE OUR FUTURE". I today i feel like its mostly words, w NO sincerity! Kinda like polititions. People in the news, in the workforce & abroad & across the country, lay down WAY TO EASY now days. ARISE COUNTRYMEN.. always be cautious of FAST TALK.

  4. American made cars are too expensive soon all we will have is foreign cars

  5. I bet the union president makes a quarter of a million dollars a year plus benefits. Why does he care if the workers strike

  6. Just doing really quick numbers based off of a quick search of what GM profited or lost last year they lost 100 million. The top three CEOs made twenty-five million, combined. I did super duper quick math just in my head nothing in writing but this is what I came up with, the 10% really is offensive, the 47% is a big ask, so again just using quick numbers I figured 18% would just bring them they would be able to live daily lives and save, but not much else. No vacations, etc. My final number was between 37 and 38% plus full benefits, retirement, etc. I don't know if going back to the old school retirement system dollar-for-dollar is going to be feasible because it's a much different world economy now, NAFTA didn't exist then. A 37% increase in a salary would change the trajectory of the socioeconomic status of HUNDREDS of millions in this country. It wouldn't balance the scales completely, but it would be a huge step forward in doing so.

I don't think they're going to find as many workers willing to work as they think they will. Particularly at a lower hourly rate and having to be kicked off the lines if an agreement is reached.
The workers have more leverage now than they have since the late seventies. Then Ronald Reagan starved the unions and it's been downhill ever since. Sigh…

  7. We are looking for equality between our CEO’s and our workers. We all work for these companies on the same teams.

  8. Don’t worry Biden will help you UAW!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Truck driver, in case of strike, i will be home

  10. It’s amusing to me that I never seen a CEO protesting another’s CEOs salary publicly, but I see blue-collar working class hating each other to defend corporate greeds. Why are you attacking working class at the same time questioning the decimation of the working class? Wake up!!!

  11. Abolish all unions…. They are no longer needed. All they do is make sure you pay the highest price for the least amount of work….. UAW just wants to be able to extort more money from the worker so they can live for free…..

  12. Thats right Greg! Send those aaa holes from whence they came. Back to Washington up Bidens as hole.

  13. Thats right Greg! Send those aaa holes from whence they came. Back to Washington up Bidens as hole.

  14. Thats right Greg! Send those aaa holes from whence they came. Back to Washington up Bidens as hole.

  15. I say let them strike it not like their selling a lot of good cars. It pretty said when a car or truck is getting to be the same price as a house. This might help the big three eat up their inventory. Why do these union seem to strike when everybody else are just trying to keep their heads above water?

  16. If a strike means that fewer slaves and children have to make dirty green batteries, the good! Strike!

  17. Don’t see a whole lot of new cars on the road anymore. Not sure they’ll get the impact they’re looking for.

  18. UAW is asking for 20% upfront and 5% over the next 4 years for a total of 40%

20% upfront: GM is offering $5,500 in a ratification bonus and a $6000 one-time inflation recognition payment. That's $11,500 right there. 80% of UAW are at max pay so it's fair to say the average worker is there. That's $32/hour or $66,500 a year. 20% of that is $13,300. I think they are really close on the 20% immediate increase. The difference is $1800. It looks like GM is offering plenty of money by different names. I'd just call it something different.

5% over the next 4 years: UAW then wants 5% wage increase per year. GM is at 10% or 2.5-3% per year. 5% would be $3,325 on the max salary. 3% is $1,995.

From the OEMs side this can't be work losing billions over. What am I getting wrong?

  19. Prices going up in October November and December would be a Death Sentence to at least 1 of the 3 big automakers. I say give them them what they want

  20. Good, We Need More Auto-Workers in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, and Tennessee…………….. $30 Per Hour is a good wage in the South…………..Detroit is Dead….What Do They Want $80???
