I am a n00b in deciphering all this .. but I am sure of the fact that Pootin continually bombards Mariupol in order to overwhelm their capacity to take care of their citizens, to demoralize Ukrainians and to make a statement about Russian potency. It's really all he's got. Pootin is running out of soldiers, supplies, equipment and reinforcements. The Sanctions are working but can we save Mariupol? I hope to God that we can. Russian was in total control of Ukraine the morning the 4th day as 70% of Ukraine forces surrendered to Putin 70% of Ukraine is pro-putin. Putin took out the entirety of Ukraine's airforce the first 10 minutes of day 3. Putin is keeping Ukraine's infrastructure intact not wanting to have to repair it later after peace is restored. Don't let yourself be fooled, check the facts and think critically, despite what the media says.
Are you convinced that this conflict is the height of global injustice?
I assure you it is not, the first and main reason is to protect Russia from an existential threat from NATO (there is objective evidence that the US has been developing chemical and biological weapons to fight Russia). The main guarantees for Russia's security are (i) demilitarisation of the whole of Ukraine and (ii) the signing of international treaties on Ukraine's neutral status – i.e. commitments not to join any military-strategic alliances.
The second reason for this special military operation of Russia to Ukraine is to protect the civilians of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics who have been unable to live normal peaceful lives for 8 years due to the oppression of nationalist-Nazi gangs operating on US and EU funding.
Russia's special military operation in Ukraine has no aim to take over the country and/or annex any territories, the main aim is to create security guarantees from NATO and equal political-economic cooperation with the world. Please see this for yourselves and read the analytical articles by independent experts.
PS. Besides, where is this hypocrisy coming from? What right do the USA and EU countries have to talk about someone's allegedly illegal actions in the international arena if they themselves have their hands full of blood?
1. tens of thousands of civilian deaths in Yugoslavia (so-called "collateral damage");
2. bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki (more than 50 thousand Japanese civilian casualties) in days before capitulation, when it was 99.99% known that Japan surrendered;
3. Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, there is not enough time to list all the casualties.
Whether there was in fact any objective purpose in the above-mentioned conflicts is an open question, although there is now evidence that these actions were aimed at destroying countries and creating regimes beneficial to the USA and its allies, but not in the slightest for self-defence or protection of civilians.
And not a single country, either on its own or through the UN, has spoken out against these acts by the US and EU countries. So what right do they have to condemn the resolution of the existential threat to Russia?
