Can't trust a word the Russians say. They are pathological liars. Putin made clear what his objectives are. He is simply strategizing how to achieve what he wants, while lying at these meetings as he repositions his forces. Putin is not withdrawing troops back to Russia. This is definitely a de facto war/proxy war between Russia and NATO via Ukraine. NATO has to make sure that Putin loses so much in Ukraine that he believes it is unrealistic, even suicidal to attack NATO countries like Poland or the Baltic states. Ukraine must come out on top of this situation, otherwise all of Europe will be in danger if Putin believes he can continue to invade other countries by force to rebuild the Russian empire.

Does no one remember the objectives that Putin very clearly laid out for invading Ukraine? He hasn't changed his objectives.
