The United Auto Workers, the nation’s largest auto union, overwhelmingly approved a strike as contract negotiations continue with General Motors, Ford Motor and Stellantis. NBC News’ Jesse Kirsch reports on what to expect next.

Making a huge mistake.. follow the data..cars staying on the road more than a decade..new car sales sluggish and interest rates raised every month and the car companies are interested in pleasing the investor class.. don't care about workers.. and they will pit scabs against unions.. it's coming
Hopefully they move it all over seas at least it will be built right .
I really hope they don’t strike. I’m 5,000 shares in and hoping for a quick gain. My job doesn’t pay well so I need this to survive. Saving up to move out of Ohio. Tired of getting harassed for living in a trailer in the woods. Out in Arizona, may not me much to look at but nobody can find you out there.
Workers unite , a great and equitable future is possible.
The average cost for a new car is $48K. What middle class American has $48K in disposable income to treat themselves to a new car? Who can afford afford these things with the cost of gas, insurance, rent/mortgages, clothes and food?
UAW killed the auto industry. Horrible quality, ridiculous wages . Make a better product, and get rid of the unions
Put a end to million dollar bonuses for CEOS. This version of America is a scam.
WORKERS CAN'T EVEN AFFORD THE VEHICLES THEY BUILD WHY???
If a strike happens supply get shut down? That’s factually inaccurate, lazy journalism that fails to expose corporate propaganda and lies. If workers DONT strike then we don’t get paid enough to afford to buy cars, and when workers can’t afford cars supply gets shut down because- say it with me, people – supply is created by demand. This is basic Econ 101 that a 10 year old understands, but apparently NBC doesn’t. This is exactly why nobody trusts the news. Because it’s bought and paid for by advertisers- like car companies.
Shut it down!
It's going under.
🇺🇸🇺🇸•Watching MORE Workers in different industries of the US Work Force Going ON Strike REALLY Places A HUGE Smile on My Face•🇺🇸🇺🇸
😁😁😁🥳😁😁😁🥳😛😄😁😁🥳😄😁😁
The whole country should strike.
Im a union electrician we buy american cars and truck from the big 3 i would not buy if they cant Negotiate in good Faith. And theres millions of us
UAW make very good money and because they do most Americans can no longer afford to make their vehicle payments. Yet they want to make sure no one can afford to buy the products they make. How's that going to turn out?
Just a matter of time before the taxpayers have to bail out these auto companies once again.
Not arguing on behalf of the C-Suite executives and their big bonuses. But I don't like unions either.
If these companies can't be ran better and they fail, then I say let them go under and stay under.
Solidarity Forever!
In January 1914, Henry Ford started paying his auto workers a remarkable $5 a day. Doubling the average wage helped ensure a stable workforce and likely boosted sales since the workers could now afford to buy the cars they were making.
Go ahead and strike, no one's forcing anyone to work there and if they're not happy they can always go work somewhere else. Those days of the UAW forcing the auto companies to pay exorbitant wages to lazy, ignorant slobs to sleep and get drunk in the parking lot are long gone. UAW always stood for U ain't working
Yeah fight fight fight GO UNION!!!!
Railworkers and every other major union should stand with them in solidarity. Strike en masse, make the feds have to react.
part of the problem is that companies want to pay cheap wages. non union jobs have it harder as we have to live with what they pay witch at max for me would be 13.50 an hour not very much and they make billions. i agree with jobs that have unions and companies don't like them because they are held accountable for paying a decent wage.
Reverse your thinking. Unionize more of the workforce overall and everyone benifits.
Go right ahead! I work in the Toyota supply chain and we will finish you this time. We are not a government-subsidized retirement home.
🎉🎉🎉
It's obvious your societies technology can't prove my victimized self defend me heal my vessel in any infrastructure inside around me appearing I'm not victimized in anyway while brainwashed surgically altered trafficked tortured disrespected dishonorably rebuilding there products locations time periods of only to the world leaders have been attacking me as one of them refusing to believe anyone nor be briefed as violently as the future products the are being used by those attacking me able of a public claims of any association with to stalk rekidnap through my identity DNA any proof of including the bloodlines of now at the extremes they are became an imminent threat to the universe by tactic stated pushing pulling enslaving me mine others to take able able to of earned claimed as the slave owners there societies or a prisoner of war treated that way
Try living on 17 dollars an hour and supporting a family with food and shelter. Not to mention gas is almost 4 dollars a gallon. Some people are just plain ignorant.
Refuse to build ev vehicles. Look at people mining it. Very illegal.
Time to do away with the extortionist unions
How does it affect the consumer…..the part you need to fix your car will be back ordered. And that part that was already back ordered will take even longer. Its not just buying a car its fixing a car.
Remember when they ALLL needed bail outs?? They shouldn't be a company anyways…let em fold..I'm buying Toyota
They are paid with benefits too much now just to watch the robots do all the work. Fire them all and hire new with no union!
They not skilled for 1 anyone off the street could do this & they want 40% raises they making 2,000$ a month striking slone they love working overtime now they claim a shorter work week lol
These workers are greedy They have good jobs And good benefits and Union. And they want more, more, more, more, more more fire, every single one of them rehire staff no Union.
Let them strike forever…..American autos are junk anyway..Hope to see all the american automakers go out of buisness, at least until they learn to build quality..
Nice
First question they ask about the strike: "how does it affect me?". Not asking for more details about why the workers want to go on strike, but instead immediately focuses on individual consumers. American media…
