Dr. Joe Gow, the chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, was terminated after nearly 17 years of service. Gow says the school asked about the pornographic videos that he and his wife star in. The university hasn’t specified why Gow was terminated but says his actions were “abhorrent.” NBC News’ Jesse Kirsch reports.

It all depends on state law. In the state where I lived, I was an employee at the will of my employer. Period. My employer had the right to terminate at its will. Aside from that, without seeing the video, how can I judge? Do I have to go on Pornhub to see the videos in question?

How ridiculous for a man to rise to this leadership position and then engage in this public behavior. What an embarrassment! Many Wisconsinites are "at will" employees; he should be, too, considering he is not indispensable. His job is to maintain an ethical standard, and he clearly failed. Therefore, he's got to go!

This feels like weird American pearl clutching. Other countries don’t put these prim-and-proper expectations on their leaders in the same way Americans do. Like leaders with not-so-vanilla off-the-clock lives aren’t an unheard of things in other countries. Who cares as long as they’re doing a good job when they’re on the clock? I literally couldn’t care less about the dude’s off-the-clock life. It’s mildly amusing if anything, but he doesn’t deserve to lose his job.
