UPS and the Teamsters union reached a tentative labor deal to avoid a strike. The union won an increase on part-time workers pay. UPS also promised to install air conditioners and fans in their trucks. NBC News’ Maura Barrett reports.

Strikes not avoided till its voted through. Part timers were promised $25 or strike. IBT promised Strike TShirts if we signed up for the app. We were promised no forced 6th day. Only drivers get the 6th day protection. Neither of the other 2 promises came true. Collusion at its finest.

This reminds me of the UAW in the 1970s. The Japanese came in and ate their lunch, and later came the Koreans with Hyundai, Kia, Daewoo, etc.
UPS drivers were already paid well, now it is just ridiculous. $45/hour to deliver boxes? This also comes at a precarious time when firms are experimenting with autonomous trucks and delivery drones.
I want folks to earn a living and I know they work their tails off, but companies that have these big muscle unions can’t pivot when new technologies come along.

The leaders of IBT UPS workers can take their victory lap, winning a historic contract by effectively mobilizing their rank and file from border to border and coast to coast. $21 an hour?! I was paid $10 an hour when I last worked for them. They love to shorten our hours and work us to death so I guess the pay increase could help but if the workplace isn't any better and your only putting in a few hours per day then find somewhere else to work!

My union just locked me and my fellow UPS drivers in on an almost 50 dollars an hour contract
And an excuse to raise shipping costs across the board for all shipping services by all of them. But hey, some union reps got a big pay raise and lots of extras.
the only way to get paid more is to not work, got it! 😆 shows you how much companies rip off their employees, they got the money, they just want to see how much they can exploit their workers before they strike, lol.
