If the US refuses to get out of the Middle East they will forever be striking targets from bases in the region. This will only happen until a bombing mission goes wrong and civilians are killed in large numbers. Resulting in deeper resentment of the US and ensure peace will never be achieved. Then countries that allow US bases will withdraw that support and close those very bases. China, Russia, and North Korea to mention a few will befriend the Arabs and gain a stronghold.
