Our experience with covid should have made people aware of the importance of watching what you touch in public, washing hands frequently and just being more conscience about how all pathogens travel between us. I never liked shaking hands even before the pandemic. Especially clammy or wet hands. Now everybody is back to their old unsanitary habits.
