As much as the responding officers and chief deserve to be ridiculed and rightfully so on how the situation was handled, seems to be a distraction from the actual perpetrator who did the killing.
And this incident is the third deadliest school shooting in the US, not the second. Virginia Tech and Sandy Hook are the first two.

To be fair it was her job to make sure that door was lock, her inability to remain calm cost this, part of her job is to keep students save and the school as well not to go help someone in a crash accident.
The person that left that door unlock is the reason this guy came inside, the police are in fault of the rest of course but school administrator needs to share blame as well cause they failed to secure the school.

This is my home town. Amery Jo Garza was my 5th cousin. Joe, the husband of Irma ( one of the teachers who died) was my friend. So sad all those beautiful souls who died that day.

Instead of making schools a gun free zone, teachers/staff should be allowed to conceal carry otherwise in situations and realities like these will just make them sitting ducks. It really angers me that they counted on the police to save them and they failed. Having a firearm would've at least given them a fighting chance.

Those school doors were outdated, a problem in most public schools in America. There was also a kid who was shot after a responding officer said “yell if you need help” with the shooter still active. Also all the stopping of parents and an officer trying to go in. And the female officer on camera saying if her kid was in there she wouldn’t be outside, “believe that” while staying outside. This piece was very watered down.
This was so damn sad. Shame on those "officers"
