Cell phone video captured the moments when a man punched another passenger on a Southwest Airlines flight near Dallas. In a statement, the Association of Flight Attendants has called on Congress to pass the Protection from Abusive Passengers Act amid the recent spike in unruly passengers.

As a former cop I love how the final moments are captured.A simple bump. Rarely do older men operate like this . While I believe that violence should be a last level strategy the one sidedness is disturbing. If no arrests were made the guy wasn't innocent.

The legislation is bad. There is already a federal no-fly list for suspected or actual terrorists, and individual airlines can ban anybody they want and deny them service/trespass them from the airport.
Imagine if you got into a verbal shouting match or mutual combat with someone at a retail store, and after the fact you find out you haven't been banned from the store…you've been banned from SHOPPING ANYWHERE. No, that punishment FAR outweighs the crime. People need to travel, people need to purchase food and necessities. The government cannot simply ban someone from those necessities because they were disruptive or fought someone once. If your job is frustrating or dangerous, get a different one. Maybe one not dealing with the public.
