I don't see a tanker truck. I see an 8 truck crash involving, 3 10 wheel dump trucks, 4, 18 wheelers w/box trailers, and a pickup. The tanker may be hidden by the other trucks and fire, I don't know.
And that's why proper spacing between vehicles is important and more semi truck drivers need to be pulled over for that very reason. Case in point.

Where was the tanker? All that appeared to be present was two dump trucks and what was left of a box trailer. Are you sure there was a tanker, or was NBC just making stuff up again?

This is most likely a difference in speed accident. I worked ITS for 6 years. My job was to network speed sensors, cameras, and DMS to notify public about slowed traffic. Most deadly highway accidents are caused by a difference in speed, not speeding like some contend, yes if you're doing a hundred in a fifty then you'll have a much higher chance of an accident, the same as if your doing 50 and an accident happens up ahead and you don't notice it in time. High speed accidents oddly enough can be safer, than a difference in speed accident, but not typically safer than a low speed accident, because you'll lose inertia, after hitting several things. Difference in speed accident you usually smack right in the back of the person in front of you and that force is not attenuated at all.
Where’s the tanker? See nothing but dump trucks and a 53 foot dry van trailer, and your lies. They probably had to lock their brakes down because a Tesla ran out of charge on the interstate and their brakes caught fire.
