Four videos of the fatal beating of Tyre Nichols, the 29-year-old man who died three days after a traffic stop by police, were released by Memphis officials Friday evening. The videos show the aggressive confrontation between Nichols and the five officers who have since been fired and charged with murder. NBC News’ Tom Llamas spoke with Nichols’ parents and their attorney.

If an attack on a police officer is always punished with a greater punishment than an attack on a civilian, then an attack by a police officer on a civilian should also be sanctioned with a greater punishment. People who represent the law must show more responsibility and therefore the punishment must be greater. Unfortunately, we have witnessed that for years policemen go unpunished, even for brutal murder, or get away with minimal punishments… I wonder if their colleagues feel embarrassed about this or if this is just normal for all of them…

I can’t stop crying over what this poor man went through. My heart goes out to his mom and dad and his family. I cannot imagine losing your son this way. I hope that they go to prison for life that’s what they deserve!!!

Never heard of a president calling a family member whose loved one was a victim of police brutality when the cops are white. 🤔 Most times it takes a long time for those cops to even be considered to be charge. However, in this case, it happened fast. These 5 cops probably thought that they could do this and get away with it like their colleagues. They are so wrong and will pay.
