China can’t afford to go to war with Taiwan or the Philippines for so many reasons, their trade and economy will be disrupted and eventually will collapse. This is the main concern of China, the BILLION PLUS PEOPLE who will suffer tremendously and definitely go hungry in a short of time in case of war. If this happens we all know what’s next. People will violently protest on the street, there will no more peace and order and chaos will erupt. If your people are will to fight there’s nothing your military forces can do with BILLION of people. US bases in the Philippines and Japan are sitting ducks for Chinese missiles, warplanes and drones. Any US ship in the first and second Island Chain is a sitting duck for Chinese warplanes, ballistic and cruise missiles and drones coming from the mainland.

The Taiwanese straight would be the ultimate kill zone for any US warplane or ship that enters there

The Taiwanese straight is too shallow for US submarines to operate. The Taiwanese straight is only 50 meters to 60 meters deep. In some areas only 30 meters deep.
