As an educated woman, I think that since race for Americans is identified as skin colour, this box should be replaced with what culture you identify with. Because race is not colour is culture, it is different if you want to replace race with culture for statistical reasons. It is understandable because the state might need to know the % of other students' races to graduate from US Universities. In my opinion, all this race discussion here in the USA is disgusting. As a foreigner, when I hear Americans talking about racism, I automatically think of Italians, Germans, Russians, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Peru, Mexico, Nigeria, India, and China because race is where your roots are from, not your skin colour. What does the skin as anything to do with race? All people are the same; as long as we are all called humans, we are the same, just different races. America is built from immigrants from all other races. Do you ever consider how these universities consider emigrants applications? How many immigrant applicants have been tossed in the trash because they were not born in the USA? This is racism.
