Law enforcement is providing an update Wednesday afternoon on efforts to recapture Danelo Souza Cavalcante, a convicted murderer who escaped from a Pennsylvania prison last week.
On Tuesday, law enforcement released images of a sighting of Cavalcante after security at Longwood Gardens received trail camera footage on their property, later confirmed to be Cavalcante.
The manhunt for Cavalcante was expanded Tuesday to include immediate areas surrounding Longwood Gardens, according to law enforcement, and is still an active and ongoing investigation. Officials are urging people near the area to check surveillance cameras around the home, cars and to remain vigilant, and to call 911 immediately with any information on Cavalcante’s current location.

He's hiding practically in back woods areas and we're currently in an excessive heat warning. I've driven on the last street he was spotted on. This prison is near my high school. I graduated a few years ago but I still know most of the faculty. School has been delayed now for 3 days and there are police practically everywhere.

Hysterical!! I just saw this guy's escape on the news. He is a ninja! At any rate, the news report said another guy scaled that same wall in May and successfully escaped but they caught him shortly thereafter. So why exactly didn't the prison eliminate access that route as a means of escape after the first time it happened?? That said, every administrator of that prison needs to be fired because what was allowed to happen for yet a second time was nothing short of gross incompetence.
