LIVE: Supreme Court bars affirmative action in college admissions | NBC News

Why is it so important to have diversity in academic field, not important in NBA?
Asking for the removal of standard test to reach diversity is like asking for the removal of competition performance in selecting NBA players to ensure having enough number of Asian players, Latino players, Hawaiian players and native Indian players
When you
PLEASE don’t make it intentionally overly complicated, just use INDIVIDUAL MERITS as a standard in considering admission, don’t matter what skin color you have.
So according the host argument: it is nothing wrong to remove the so called “barrier” to unqualified applicants and raise barriers to well qualified applicants because the perceived inaccessibility of learning resources in middle school? While many qualified applicants have to overcome many obstacles to learn, is using racial as a factor to reject the a fair act to them?
This must hit home for Justice Jackson, as she is obviously not very intelligent and would be a file clerk somewhere if not for affirmative action.
Has she figured out what a woman is yet?
Whichever way you feel about the decisions that this supreme court has made; they have really helped define what republicans stand for. We'll see how things work out in 2024, but I think they've given significant reasons for democrats to get out and vote to rid ourselves of political bias in the courts. Of course, we can't immediately make the necessary changes, but voting out all republicans will be a move in the right direction.
Yo
I'm here to talk that the Republican Party is racist
They're the ones who are trying to take away our rights
They're the ones who are trying to divide us
And they're the ones who are trying to start a race war
But we're not going to let them win
We're going to stand up to them
We're going to fight back
And we're going to win
We're going to make America beautiful again
We're going to make it a place where everyone is equal
We're going to make it a place where everyone has freedom
And we're going to make it a place where everyone is safe
So let's all stand up and say
Enough is enough
We're not going to let the Republican Racist win
In unity all hip hop musician USA stop voting republicans now
Why don't you care about Asian-Americans?
8:49. It’s interesting for him to characterize the 25 year statement as a throwaway line. As Kavanaugh said, the 25 year limit was an important part of O’Connor’s opinion and was also referenced in 4 of the opinions Grutter case. To pretend that wasn’t carefully considered is silly.
Can I say AMEN??? Finally!!!
Unbelievable, but not surprising how tone deaf these conservative justices are about the realities of access to good and higher education in this country. If this is what old white men want, there shouldn’t be one more complaint that people of color don’t strive high enough. This is what happens when you do. You get shut out due to fear.
College considerations are mostly inconsequential to me, and should be to most. College is WAY Overrated. I spent nearly 10 years in college…earning 2 Bachelor's Degrees. But looking back….not really all that necessary.
Think all you need is to go through a good Junior college. You definitely need to be able to read, write, and comprehend — all very important core skills for any working life. Basic math skills could be important too, depending upon exactly what you do. And after Junior College — consider any very technical schools — depending upon what you want to do in life. (Acting school, Film directing or editing, Medical skills, computer skills, this list could be endless).
As a final point, almost all my required High School classes were not that significant or important. Except for 1. That year-long HS Typing Class I took way back when was absolutely CRITICAL for my entire future life. (LOL)
I absolutely would NEVER have had the great career I had without me acquiring essential basic typewriting skills. When I was going through HS….it was just the Dawn of the beginning of the Computer Age that was just about to explode upon us. And it surely did and is still doing so. It's amazing to watch and still be a part of it all.
Schools have been hammering out contingency workarounds for years with the knowledge this day would come. This racist AA non-sense will remain challenged in the courts for decades.
Going backwards
One of my good friends in high school turned down a Harvard scholarship because he was black. He attended a different school that based their admissions on scholarship, not color.
Vice Democrat 2024
Please Vice Democrat
Joke
Patient "Are you qualified to do surgery on me?"
Doctor "No, I got into medical school because I was black."
Patient "Are there any Jewish doctors in this hospital?" Lol😂
The religiously extremist supremacy court
What was the original case name? .
Black and brown kids under represented WORK HARDER, like everyone else.
Just go to the HBCU. This is the reason they were founded. My daughter is going to one, and my family members have graduated from them. They all have well paying jobs. I don't know why we as black people think we have to force ourselves upon others. The HBCU is waiting just go.
Imagine putting in so much time, effort and hard work just to be rejected because your not the race they are looking for.
I have no qualms with this decision.
Finally a college student will deserve to be there based on their grades and not the color of their skin.
GREAT DECISION!!!. THIS LIBERAL RACISM NEEDS TO STOP !!!

The strong independent ladies will be just fine. Long pass due.
Next step: end legacy admissions
The G.O.Party of fascism will destroy democracy in America, if we allow it.
Are they going to remove the gender box as well? Are we post sexism yet? Are we getting rid of all entitlement and set-aside programs for women?
