Best way to stop Russia is to lay a ring of landmines around Ukraine, have teams with backhoe deployed to dig trenches, and particularly mine any key access points for tanks.

Russia has been sanctioned to death so Putin sees no benefit to capitulate with the west. Russia didn't even get exemptions for their Olympic athletes failed drug tests on prescripted drugs like western countries do. It is a reputation by design so why would Putin play the game he can't win?
