Both my parents served in the army during WWII and yes, just teenagers. My mom was a WAC and lived to be 97. Unfortunately, my father was seriously injured during theBattle of the Bulge and never fully recovered. He passed in the 1960’s.

A hearttwarming story! Sadly, the greatest generation is dwindling to a precious few. 16 Million men and hundreds of thousands of women served in WWII out of a U.S. population of about 100 million! If that war were fought today with a population of 330 million – 50 Million men would be in uniform before it was over! Most of them were just 18, 19 and 20 years old! The Greatest Generation – who came of age in the depravity of The Great Depression – saved the world from tyranny!
